Some projects like LiveXP will create you a XP based boot disk from a Windows XP SP2 Install CD and produce a very small CD image sized around 31Mb~100Mb that can include a lot of features, freeware programs and combine support to SATA drives and Network connections. WinBuilder itself is a very flexible program to which a lot of talented people have devoted time to create and publish projects that can be downloaded from the internal download center. Boot disks are based on projects and scripts that can produce very different results, depending on the expected result from the end user.
The main advantage of WinBuilder is the relative ease of use, friendly GUI, and the ongoing community effort to further automate and develop the customization of these boot disks. WinBuilder is a free application designed to build and customize boot disks (Live CDs) based on Microsoft Windows. Anybody else have this issue with Hyper-V on Windows 10? As a workaround, I'm going to try copying the vmguest.iso from a different Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2 machine. I tried removing and reinstalling Hyper-V Services, but that didn't resolve it. In researching this further, I do not see that a vmguest.iso was ever installed on the Windows 10 host at:%windir% system32 vmguest.iso. In Hyper-V Manager, I have all the Integration Services features enabled for the VM, but it still does not give me the option to install Integration Services under the Action menu. However, I'm not able to connect it to the network as I need to utilize Integration Services for installing the virtual NIC drivers. After rebooting, I was able to successfully build a Windows XP VM for testing.
